"On January 6th, the world watched closely as insurrectionists stormed the Capitol resulting in injuries, deaths and a further divide between political factions in this country. The threat to democracy was perfectly clear. This was indeed an act of domestic terrorism, that threatens the road to progress. That day I fully condemned the acts of violence and terrorism we witnessed across our screens. Today, I still and again speak out against it. This is not who we should be practicing being. Chatter that more insurrectionists are planning an action in New York City for March 4th is beyond disturbing.
I am sending this message clear and loud. Acts of violence and hate will not be tolerated in our city. We will not stand for it. I will not stand for it. Many politicians are silent about these planned actions and many will fully welcome it like they did the attack on the Capitol. Our communities, our city, the People will not allow a repeat of the Capitol. As a people we must and we will unite against fear-mongering and hate and build true unity and solidarity within our communities." - Anthony Beckford
